1. God’s Design
God created us out of love and designed us to live in a right relationship with Him. His design is good. We were made to know Him, worship Him, reflect His love, and live according to His purpose.
The Bible says, “So God created mankind in His own image…”
Genesis 1:27
God’s design is life with Him — a life of purpose, peace, worship, and obedience.
2. Our Sin and Brokenness
But we have all turned away from God’s design. The Bible calls this sin. Sin is not just making mistakes; it is rejecting God’s way and choosing our own.
Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Because of sin, we experience brokenness — separation from God, guilt, shame, pain, confusion, and death. We often try to fix our brokenness through success, relationships, religion, pleasure, or good works, but none of these can restore us to God.
Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…”
3. The Gospel
The good news is that God did not leave us in our brokenness. Out of His love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again from the grave.
Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Through His death and resurrection, Jesus made the way for us to be forgiven, restored to God, and given new life.
4. Our Response: Repent and Believe
The Bible calls us to respond to Jesus through repentance and faith. To repent means to turn from sin and turn to God. To believe means to trust Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”
We cannot save ourselves. Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus.
5. New Life: Recover and Pursue God’s Design
When we trust in Jesus, God forgives our sin, restores our relationship with Him, and gives us new life.
2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
Following Jesus is not simply about praying a prayer or attending church. It is about becoming a disciple of Jesus — learning to love God first, love the church passionately, and love others intentionally.
Through Christ, we begin to recover and pursue God’s good design for our lives.
